Gaming Hardware Market Accelerates on Back of New Graphics Cards

London 20th October 2025 - The European gaming market continues to show robust momentum through 2025, with graphics cards leading the charge and driving renewed demand for desktops and gaming monitors across European distribution, according to the latest analysis from CONTEXT, the global market intelligence firm.

“Throughout the year we’ve seen exceptional performances in the graphics card segment, following the launch of the latest generation of gaming GPUs,” said Evan Ntafas, Business Analyst at CONTEXT. “This has triggered a ripple effect across the wider gaming ecosystem,  desktops and monitors are benefiting strongly from the same upgrade cycle, while other gaming accessories have slowed slightly as consumers prioritise big-ticket hardware.”

After a three-year wait for new-generation GPUs, the market response has been highly positive. CONTEXT market insights show that consumer focus has shifted decisively toward the latest, ultra-high-definition (UHD)-capable systems, rather than previous-generation, discounted models. “This time, the hype and investment are centred squarely on the newest technology, which is translating directly into stronger market performance,” Evan added.

At a regional level, Germany, Poland, and Italy stand out for their consistent year-on-year gains in graphics card sales, with Poland showing particularly strong momentum across 2025. The UK market, which started the year strongly, has softened slightly since August, while France has seen more volatility, with sharp mid-year spikes linked to retail discount activity.

Meanwhile, the gaming monitor market remains resilient. “We’ve had nearly two years of outstanding results for gaming monitors,” Ntafas explained. “Although there was a slowdown early in the year due to shifting budgets, performance remains solid, especially in the UK, Italy and Poland, which all outperformed last year’s levels in September. As the PC and GPU refresh cycle matures, we expect this category to gain even more traction.”

By contrast, sales of gaming accessories such as headsets, keyboards and mice have softened in 2025, reflecting consumer budget realignment toward higher-value components.

Overall, CONTEXT market intelligence indicates a strong and healthy gaming hardware market in Europe, driven by a combination of technological innovation, pent-up upgrade demand, and an appetite for premium performance.
