The annual BETT event earlier this year, gathered
educators, IT providers, and ministries from around the world,
focusing on presenting, discussing, and exchanging insights to enhance
the learning journey for the next generation.
This year, CONTEXT took the stage to present an
insightful overview of the state of education technology in Southeast
Asia. Collaborating with industry figures like Rupert Daniels, Thea
Wiltshire, and Dr. Mohd Rozi Ismail, the session highlighted the
diverse and heterogeneous nature of the region.
Sustainability emerged as a crucial theme, with
CONTEXT presenting the varying levels of importance placed on
sustainable objectives by the education community. The focus on
recyclability, reuse of components, e–waste reduction, repairability,
energy consumption, and packaging showcased the community’s commitment
to long–term success and impact.
CONTEXT’s role in presenting the state of
education technology in Southeast Asia underscores its dedication to
driving positive change. The global perspective showcased the
diverse characteristics of the world while emphasizing the common
goal shared by educational technology–to shape the future for
thousands of students.
This year’s exhibition spotlighted Artificial
Intelligence (AI) as a game–changer. Unlike previous concerns about
the negative impact of AI, BETT 2024 discussions painted it as an
opportunity for teachers, students, and the education community to
shift their focus from “what” to “why” in teaching. Access to
AI–generated content was presented as a means to foster understanding,
reflectiveness, and critical thinking among learners.
The insights and innovations shared at the event
are set to shape the future of education, setting the stage for a more
engaging, sustainable, and technologically advanced learning
environment for generations to come.
